Regulations state that all commercial producers of waste must take all reasonable measures to apply the waste hierarchy. All businesses need to have a declaration on Waste Transfer Notes (WTN) to confirm they have applied the waste hierarchy. This is why all commercial businesses must appoint a licensed Waste Management Company to collect and treat their waste materials.

RTS Waste is a licensed Waste Carrier and holds a full license at three Waste Transfer stations in London, Kent and Somerset. Once your waste is collected RTS will take all reasonable measures to segregate Paper, Metal, Plastic and Glass where technically, environmentally and economically possible. This can include co-mingled collections of recyclables.

RTS Waste has a comprehensive range of services to manage all types of waste that are produced from Commercial, Industrial and Construction Sites.

General Waste and Dry Mixed Recycling

Why Recycle General Waste?

General Waste is a classification that is used when there is mixed types of waste that have not been segregated or sorted. The statistics related to the production of Commercial, Construction, Industrial and Residential waste is frightening and still needs serious management to ensure there is a sustainable environment for future generations.

Why Choose RTS?

RTS Waste encourages segregation at source to assist with the reuse, recycle recovery of materials from the waste. This follows the Government Waste Hierarchy.  However we appreciate that there are occasions that your waste will be mixed streams and you will not have an opportunity to separate this waste at source.

How RTS Recycle your General Waste?

RTS will collect your General Waste, once taken to one of our three Waste Transfer Stations; the waste will be treated and processed at our MRF (Material Recovery Facility).

The Material Recovery Facility and picking reusable materials from the waste will maximise the quantity of waste being diverted from Landfill. See our MRF Link.

A zero waste to landfill service can be provided; this involves the residue left, after your General Waste is treated by our Material Recovery Facility, being taken to an Energy From Waste (EFW) operation. This is where your waste will be incinerated and supply local energy supplies with power being stored.

Why Choose Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) Waste Services?

Dry Mixed Recycling is commonly referred to in the industry as DMR. This waste is differentiated from General Waste because the waste is free from contaminants such as food and garden waste. Materials for DMR include glass, cardboard, paper, metal and aluminium and wood.

Segregation of waste at source will significantly reduce volume of waste going to landfill. The associated savings of energy, cost, and carbon foot print are necessary for a sustainable future of our environment.

Why Choose RTS for your DMR Service?

RTS Waste Management believes Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) is a simple and cost effective solution for business customers. It is the logical step towards recycling, meeting compliance and improving environmental performance to optimise their contribution to a sustainable world.

RTS has multiple solutions for offering a Dry Mixed Recycle Services.   All our containers can be utilised for the collection of General and Dry Mixed Recycle Waste.
